With Deep Sadness

With great sadness, the Amstelveen Lifesaving Brigade has learned of the unexpected passing of Wilma Bakker.

For nearly fifty years, Wilma was a deeply dedicated and active member of our association. Through her commitment, devotion, and warm personality, she made an indelible
impression. Wilma was always there for all the students—every Saturday morning at the entrance of the swimming pool, ready to welcome them. She greeted new students and helped them find their way.
Within the association, Wilma was not only a reliable volunteer but also a familiar face and a unifying presence. Together with her husband, Ton Bakker, she gave her heart and soul to the organization.
We are deeply grateful for everything Wilma has meant to the Amstelveen Lifesaving Brigade. Her dedication and presence will be greatly missed.
Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and everyone who held her dear. We wish them much strength in this difficult time.
On behalf of the board and members of the Amstelveen Lifesaving Brigade
